I too thought that Bamboozled sucked I was so stressed out watching the movie it was so bad it had terrible acting, the visuals sucked also what was that weird camera angle that occasionally appeared like it was someone spying on the characters. The ending was funny as hell it was supposed to be sad with Sloan killing Delacroix but the acting was so bad and mediocre I wasn’t expecting that from Jada Pinkett-Smith also on IMDB everyone was talking about how groundbreaking and great the movie was but I was confused because I had a terrible experience. I swear I almost had an anxiety attack when I saw Manray putting ashes on his face followed by bright red lipstick for blackface.

As I rewatched it a few times (after I swore that I wouldn’t) I noticed that the movie wasn’t terrible, it was just some of the acting and the cinematography. Damon Wayne and Jada Pinkett-Smith played their roles well but Mos Def was being himself instead of the character. The concept of the movie is really good, it just failed visually. If this was a book I don’t think that the other reviews would’ve been so bad, but Spike Lee is a film director. My favorite scene was the audition scene, that was so funny. I really hope that this movie didn’t give you a bad impression of his other works, most of his movies are really good (except Chiraq, I don’t really care for that one). I recommend watching one of his earlier movies such as Do the Right Thing or Malcolm X next (you’ll also understand why I was so frustrated with Bamboozled).
