As this semester comes to an end, I can say that I’ve learned new things that I can take with me in the future. I got to hear others’ personal experiences with real world problems and I’ve learned that there are different way to handle them. I was not close to anyone, but I enjoyed my time in the classroom. I’ve never blogged or anything like that before, so this is new for me. I got the chance to express my thoughts on assignments given in class and I got the opportunity to see others do the same. My professor used her energy to spread across the room and everyone followed. I enjoyed the opportunity to do things differently and I will keep these things as a guide as time goes on.

My final semester as a college freshman is almost over. I’ve learned a lot and met new people. Time seem to move quicker and before I know it, I’ll have my bachelors degree.

The Matrix is one of my favorite movies. The simulation theory is something I could talk about all day which is why I chose this movie for my paper. It can be confusing at first, but once you understand the simulation theory, you’ll understand the movie.

This year has been full of growth yet some events seem to make me feel as though the world is backtracking. Events that happen far from me seem to be moving closer every day. Nevertheless, I have no choice but to remain positive and to finish everything I’ve started.

In my project, my partner and I plan to compare our cities in which we grew up and show that our communities have similar issues dealing with poverty, racism, and crime.

Becoming is a great memoir. Coming from Michelle Obama herself, the book has significant coverage and is arguably one of the best books I’ve ever read.

I feel as though this essay from Colin Hughes should get more publicity for what it is and what it’s talking about. Racism has haunted people of color for centuries and is still persistent in today’s society. I believe it is vital that more people read this essay.

The series of deep poems and detailed stories definitely pulled my attention. Some things were too graphic in my opinion, but the author’s ability to share his life with the world is incredible.

My name is Shyiere Murphy and I am a freshman majoring in Computer Science. I am a transfer student from Savannah State University. I graduated from Miller Grove High School in May of 2018.  With my degree, I plan to work for Google in Canada in the near future. I also play soccer and have hopes of going overseas.
 I was born in Indianapolis on February 6^th, 2000. After 3 months, my mom moved me and my older sister and brother to Tallahassee, Florida. I don’t know much about Indiana, but that it’s boring and there are a lot of fields. I’ve only been a few times, but I’m not planning on going back. Florida is what I call my first home.
I played football, wrestling, and soccer through high school. I still enjoy playing soccer every day and I watch it in my free time. My favorite soccer teams are Atlanta United and Paris Saint-Germain. I enjoy going to the Atlanta United games because it reminds me of where I dream to be.
